Chapter 13, sub-chapter 2: Magnetic Poles Taken from the Cambridge Checkpoint Science Coursebook stage 8.✌ Welcome back to my blog★ In this blog post, I will be re-writing a sub-chapter from my Science coursebook. There will also be a video that is about magnetic poles. Magnets attract magnetic materials. There is a magnetic force which pulls on a piece of steel when a magnet attracts it. You may have noticed that the force is strongest if you use the end of the magnet. A bar magnet's magnetism is strongest at the ends. The ends of the magnet are called its magnetic poles. The poles are called the north pole (N) and the south pole (S). Why is this? If you hang up a bar magnet so that it is free to turn around, it will turn until one end points towards the north - this end is the north pole of the magnet. The south pole points towards the south. Two magnets The diagram shows what happens when the poles of two magnets are close together. They may attract each other, or they may repe

Introduction

An Introduction into my life Hello, my name is Chanté Olivier. I am from South Africa, and I'm 14 years old. I have long blonde hair, and my eyes are a mix between blue and green.  I would say my personality is a mix between funny and sarcastic. But I act different with different groups of people. For example, when I am with my close friends I am more out going and loud. But when I am with people that I am not close with I am quieter and not as out going. I am quite introverted around new people, I don't like talking to new people at all. I will usually only talk to them if they start the conversation. Family and friends are so important to me. They are what keep me happy. They are always there for when you need someone to talk to. And you can always count on them to be there for you. My close friends are considered a family to me. A family that I had the choice of who could be in it. Sometimes you don't always talk to them, but you still know that they are still there for

Class summary

My Science class - 5th week of July In the 5th week of July, the 8A class had a science lesson on Zoom. We have to have our lessons on Zoom because of the on-going pandemic. Our topic for this lesson was light. We discussed multiple this about light. Some of which were; how light travels, how shadows form, reflection of light etc. My favourite thing that we learned in this lesson was the spectrum of white light. This is my favourite because I found it the most interesting. And also because i like the way the light looks once it has gone through a glass prism. When the white is split into the seven colours ( red , orange , yellow , green, blue, indigo and violet ) it's called dispersion. these seven colours always appear in the same order.
